Megan Hawthorn is a Lecturer in Ultrasound/Radiography and Unit Lead at the School of Radiology within the Health Sciences University. She serves as Course Leader for the MSc Breast Imaging and leads the Breast Imaging unit on the MSc Medical Ultrasound course, focusing on advancing interventional techniques in imaging-guided breast services. Additionally, she contributes to obstetrics and gynaecology units across multiple short courses and the BSc Diagnostic Radiography program.
Education:
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Imaging from the University of the West of England (2013)
- MSc Medical Ultrasound from Bournemouth University (2019)
- Postgraduate qualification in Breast Ultrasound Imaging from Kingston University
Research Interests: Abdominal ultrasound, superficial structures imaging, gynaecology, obstetric ultrasounds (all trimesters), neonatal head ultrasound, and interventional radiology techniques.
Megan splits her professional time between lecturing and practicing as a sonographer in an NHS hospital, actively contributing to both academic and clinical advancements in medical imaging.
