Dr. Ann Valle is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Music at Western Carolina University (WCU), where she teaches applied oboe, studio class, and chamber music. She previously held roles at the University of North Florida, including teaching oboe and music education, conducting the University Concert Band, and serving as Director of Bands at LaVilla School of the Arts. Earlier, she was a Visiting Professor of Oboe and Music Education at Stetson University.
Her education includes a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) and two Master of Music (MM) degrees from Florida State University, alongside a Bachelor of Music (BM) from Western Michigan University. Her research focuses on French oboe literature, exemplified by her doctoral dissertation on Jean Françaix's music. She is an active performer and clinician, specializing in Baroque oboe and participating in festivals like Oberlin's Baroque Performance Institute and the Western Baroque Festival.
Dr. Valle is affiliated with organizations such as the International Double Reed Society, College Music Society, and National Band Association. Beyond academia, she enjoys outdoor activities like cycling, hiking, and photography.
