Ian Wisekal serves as Adjunct Professor of Oboe at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music since 2013. He holds principal positions with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and Crested Butte Music Festival, and performs regularly with the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Bach Ensemble, and Opera Colorado across professional ensembles throughout Colorado and internationally.

His creative work bridges performance and scholarship through transcriptions of 17th-21st century works and commissioning new pieces, significantly contributing to oboe literature while maintaining active orchestral engagement.

Teaching and Professional Impact: His students consistently earn scholarships to institutions like Eastman and establish professional careers. Funded by the Pro-Symphony Association of Puerto Rico for Paris Conservatory studies, Wisekal develops innovative curriculum including upcoming courses on Baroque and Classical/Romantic performance practice. He maintains active collaborations with major ensembles while creating educational content through his YouTube channel and reed-making resources.
Ensemble Affiliations: Core member of Greeley Philharmonic and Colorado Bach Ensemble, with frequent appearances in Colorado Symphony, Boulder Chamber Orchestra, and international festivals including Sarasota, Banff, and Casals Festival.
