Sarah Bierhaus is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, specializing in oboe and English horn performance. She is actively engaged in teaching and performance, serving as principal oboist for Opera Colorado and Boulder Philharmonic orchestras, associate principal oboist for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and second oboist for Central City Opera. Her career spans multiple prestigious orchestras, including the Colorado Symphony and Buffalo Philharmonic, and she is a founding member of the Antero Winds chamber ensemble.

Dr. Bierhaus is renowned for her commitment to new music, having premiered numerous contemporary works with the Antero Winds, and for her educational outreach, including masterclasses and private teaching. Her research and professional interests center on oboe pedagogy, chamber music, and community engagement through performance.
