Megan Stapleton serves as Assistant Professor of Voice Studies in the Department of Performance Studies within Bob Jones University's School of Fine Arts and Communication. She holds a DMA in Performance from the University of North Texas, MM in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory, and BM in Music from Sam Houston State University.
Her research and performance interests span early music, vocal performance, opera, musical theater, and contemporary classical repertoire. As a versatile vocalist, she specializes in Baroque music through Houston Baroque (which she founded), Mozart, and modern works, with notable collaborations including Houston Grand Opera's children's programs and Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Her pedagogical focus includes vocal literature, opera workshop, and vocal pedagogy.
Stapleton maintains an active performance career with ensembles like Ars Lyrica, Mercury Chamber Orchestra, and Houston’s Bach Society. She released the album 'My Soul Sees and Hears' with Houston Baroque (2014-2017) and has premiered works by Thomas Oboe Lee, M.C. Warwick, and Gregory Spears. Her professional trajectory includes engagements with Boston Early Music Festival, Houston Grand Opera, and Galveston Symphony Orchestra.
