Kimberly Monzón, DMA, is an Associate Professor of Voice at the School of Music, Baylor University. A renowned soprano, she has performed leading operatic roles across the United States with companies including Columbus Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Houston Grand Opera. Her academic work bridges performance and science, focusing on vocal health and the physiological impacts of Omega-3 fatty acids on singers.

Dr. Monzón’s research explores the intersection of voice science and performance. Current projects include cross-disciplinary studies with Baylor University on Omega-3 supplementation’s effects on the singing voice, vascular changes in vocal folds, and hormonal influences on vocal performance. She also investigates longitudinal impacts of voice lessons on vocal range profiles.
Her 2021 publication in the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research established foundational insights into fish oil’s role in vocal self-perception, while her conference presentations highlight practical applications for vocal hygiene and fatigue prevention.
Dr. Monzón actively collaborates with institutions like Houston Grand Opera’s Butler Studio Artists and maintains memberships with PAVA, NATS, Performing Arts Medicine Association, and TMEA. Her students have gained admission to elite programs such as Manhattan School of Music and the University of Puget Sound, securing roles in professional theaters nationwide.
