Jennifer Aylmer is an Associate Professor of Voice and Chair of the Voice Division at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Music. She is a renowned soprano celebrated for her stage performances, vocal precision, and work in classical and contemporary operatic repertoires. Her career spans major opera houses and orchestras globally, including the Metropolitan Opera, Utah Symphony, and Carnegie Hall.
Education: A native of Long Island, Aylmer holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Westminster Choir College, with additional training at the Juilliard Opera Center and Houston Grand Opera Studio. She has received prestigious grants and awards recognizing her artistic contributions.
Research interests focus on vocal performance, oratorio, and contemporary music. Notable roles include world premieres of operas by Tobias Picker, Kirke Mechem, and Bernard Rands. She is also a sought-after recitalist and collaborator in chamber music.
