Anja Burmeister Strauss is a Vocal Répétiteur and Course Lecturer (Voice) at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, with a specialization in German Diction. She also teaches at the Université de Montréal and serves as the German Diction Coach for institutions like the San Francisco Opera and Houston Grand Opera. Her roles include vocal instruction, repertoire coaching, and advocacy for Lied and contemporary music.
Education: Holds degrees from the Juilliard School (New York City) and the Musikhochschule Lübeck (Germany).
Research & Performance: Known for her dynamic artistry across opera, lied, and oratorio. Notable performances include Mozart’s Requiem at Lincoln Center, Hindemith’s Marienleben in Denmark, and recitals at Weill Hall (Carnegie Hall) and the Goethe Institute.
