Amanda Pepping serves as Adjunct Professor of Trumpet in the School of Music at Sam Houston State University, teaching trumpet, brass techniques, and chamber music while collaborating in the Lungta trumpet-percussion duo with her husband John Lane.

Research & Performance Focus
Dr. Pepping specializes in classical and baroque trumpet performance, with scholarly emphasis on historical trumpet techniques developed during her Fulbright research in Karlsruhe. Her work integrates pedagogical innovation with cross-cultural performance practices across orchestral, chamber, and early music contexts.

- Fulbright Fellowship (2005-2006) for Baroque trumpet studies with Dr. Edward Tarr
Professional Leadership
As former International Trumpet Guild Board member (2011-2016) and Journal editor, she shaped trumpet scholarship globally. Her editorial work on Hickman's 'Trumpet Pedagogy' remains foundational. Current artistic contributions include Houston's Mercury Orchestra (2nd Baroque Trumpet) and upcoming New Trinity Baroque recordings.
