Ali Elkamel is a Professor and Chair of the Chemical & Petroleum Engineering Department at Khalifa University. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering (Process Systems Engineering Specialization) from Purdue University and has held academic roles at institutions including the University of Colorado-Boulder and Colorado School of Mines.
- Education: BSc (Chemical Engineering & Mathematics), MSc (Chemical Engineering), PhD (Chemical Engineering)
His research focuses on Process Systems Engineering (PSE), with applications in energy systems, renewable energy integration, pollution monitoring, carbon management, and sustainable operations. He emphasizes the use of data analytics, machine learning, and AI to enhance process efficiency and profitability while minimizing environmental impact.
Professor Elkamel has supervised over 75 Master's students, 45 PhD students (20 in academia), and 45 postdoctoral fellows. His work is funded by government and industry grants, and he has authored 5 books, including Environmentally Conscious Fossil Energy Production and Electric Vehicles in Energy Systems.
