Dr. Alexandra George is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law & Justice at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), specializing in intellectual property law. She joined UNSW in 2007 after academic roles at Queen Mary University of London, University of Wales Swansea, and others. Her research focuses on international IP law, AI-IP intersections, and the philosophy of intellectual property. She holds a PhD from the Australian National University and multiple law degrees from the University of Sydney.

Her research explores jurisdictional challenges in IP law, metaphysical foundations of IP, and AI’s impact on creativity incentives. She actively advises on pro bono matters through ArtsLaw and has received awards for teaching excellence and legal contributions.
Dr. George’s work bridges legal theory and practice, addressing global IP trends and cross-border enforcement. She is a member of the Herbert Smith Freehills China International Business Law Centre and contributes to international conferences on AI, copyright, and IP reform.
