Aidan Beegan

Aidan Beegan serves as an Honorary Research Fellow at the Data Science Centre within the School of Population Health at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He also works as a Biostatistician at Children's Health Ireland Research & Innovation, applying statistical methods to clinical research.

His educational background includes:

• BSc in Genetics from University College Dublin (2015-2019)
• MSc in Bioinformatics from University College Cork (2019-2020)

Beegan specializes in biostatistics and data science applications in healthcare. His research focuses on providing statistical support to clinical research studies and improving the efficiency of clinical trials. With expertise spanning genetics, bioinformatics, and population health, he bridges the gap between complex data analysis and clinical decision-making. His publication record shows engagement with long-term clinical outcomes research, particularly in newborn screening programs and metabolic disorders, analyzing data from birth to 18 years across 217 patients with classical galactosaemia.

As part of the Data Science Centre team, Beegan contributes to teaching responsibilities and supports the center's mission of advancing data-driven approaches in population health research, with particular focus on developmental disorders that persist despite early diagnosis and intervention.
