Dr Ahmed Shaalan is an Associate Professor in Marketing and Director of the MSc Marketing program at the University of Birmingham Business School, where he joined in July 2022. Previously, he held academic positions at Cranfield University and the University of Hull. His primary affiliations include the Department of Marketing and Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham.

His research explores the intersection of cultural practices with customer experience, employee well-being, and the application of AI in marketing. He applies mixed methods and is proficient in SPSS, SEM (Amos, PLS), and NVivo.
His recent publications span topics such as workplace gossip, customer mindset, brand equity, and cross-cultural relationship marketing. These works appear in top-tier journals like the Journal of Business Ethics, Tourism Management, and British Journal of Management, indicating a strong focus on organizational behavior, marketing strategy, and cultural dynamics.

His leadership in the MSc Marketing program and involvement in academic service highlight his commitment to education and research excellence.
He is involved in developing research tools to assist managers in business strategy and customer engagement. His work bridges academic rigor with practical application, particularly in hospitality, banking, and cross-cultural marketing sectors.
