Ingrid Brioso Rieumont

Ingrid Brioso Rieumont is an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Portuguese at Dartmouth College, specializing in 19th- and 20th-century Latin American literatures and cultures with a focus on the Hispanophone Caribbean and Brazil. Her interdisciplinary research bridges literary criticism, visual culture, philosophy, and Marxist theory, examining transatlantic slavery's legacy and formal innovation in cultural production.

Publications Highlight: Recent work includes analyses of Afrodescendant criticism in Cuba/Brazil (Latin American Literary Review, 2025) and Cuban filmmaker Lucrecia Martel’s sensory aesthetics (Casa de las Américas, 2024). Her 2020 monograph on Cuban travel writing explores spatial-temporal narratives of revolution.
