Deanne Gannaway is an Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Queensland's School of Social Science, specializing in higher education curriculum and teaching excellence. She leads UQ's Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI), designing programs to enhance teaching practices and foster inclusive academic communities. Her research focuses on recognizing teaching expertise, curriculum innovation, and global higher education policies, with over 84 scholarly works and $1.9M in funding. Education: PhD in Education (2015) from Flinders University. Key research interests include curriculum design, work-integrated learning, and academic leadership. She has conducted 24 curriculum reviews and established teaching recognition programs across 8 universities globally. Publications span higher education policy, MOOCs, and interdisciplinary learning. Her work emphasizes practitioner voices and systemic institutional change. Over 700 UQ staff have been supported in achieving HEA Fellowships under her mentorship.
