Associate Professor Roula Kyriacou serves as Associate Dean of Clinical & Professional Education at RMIT University's School of Health & Biomedical Sciences, part of the STEM College. She leads initiatives to enhance clinical and professional education (CPE), including placement preparedness through collaborations with the STEM College WIL & Engagement team. Her roles include fostering industry partnerships, supervising placement coordinators, and mentoring staff in learning and teaching (L&T) excellence.
Her teaching responsibilities include coordinating courses such as MEDS1075 General Pathology and MEDS2181 Integrative Pathology (Postgraduate). Roula has driven program innovations like the Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine (Honours), accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical & Clinical Scientists (AIMS). She has received prestigious awards, including the RMIT Vice-Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award (2019) and a national AAUT citation (2020), reflecting her commitment to student-centered education.
Roula’s research focuses on cardiorespiratory medicine, neurosciences, and clinical sciences. She has secured grants in blended learning and inter-disciplinary education, including LTIF, STeLR, and Seed grants. Her work emphasizes teamwork across academia, industry, and alumni to advance professional education and clinical practice.
