Dr. Chen-Han Wilfred Wu is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences and Urology , Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine . He serves as the Director of the Urogenetics Program and is a member of the Cancer Genomics and Epigenomics Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Wu's work bridges clinical urology and genetic research, focusing on genomics in urological diseases. Education: MD, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan PhD, Human Genetics, University of Utah Clinical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics Training, Harvard Medical School Dr. Wu's research explores the genomic basis of urological conditions , including kidney stones, male infertility, transgender biology, genitourinary cancers, congenital kidney anomalies, and voiding dysfunction. His lab integrates electronic medical records (EMR) with genomic sequencing from resources like the UK Biobank and All-of-Us, combining dry and wet lab approaches. His recent publications highlight trends in congenital kidney anomalies (ARHGEF6, ZMYM2, FOXC1 variants), urological cancers (upper tract urothelial carcinoma), metabolic disorders (cystine stones, calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis), and systemic implications of monogenic kidney diseases. Key methodologies include exome sequencing , gene network analysis , and cross-species modeling . Dr. Wu's lab collaborates with the Urology Institute at University Hospitals and the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences . He mentors trainees in bedside-to-bench research , leveraging both phenotypic data and multi-omics analysis to advance precision medicine in urology.
