Alfred Sproede is a Professor of Slavic and Baltic Literatures at the University of Münster, holding the Chair of East Slavic and West Slavic Literatures. He has held visiting professorships at Harvard University and Jagiellonian University in Kraków. His research focuses on East Central European cultures and literatures, Renaissance and Humanism in Poland and Bohemia, and Eastern European legal and social philosophy.
