Silvia PEREYRA-PALMA

Silvia PEREYRA-PALMA is a Professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, serving in the Department of Romance Languages under the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences. She has held leadership positions including Director of the Department of Romance Languages (2005–2008, 2014–2020, and since 2022), Vice-Dean for Languages and International Relations (2015–2020), and UFR Management Board member (2010–2021). Her research focuses on linguistic fixed elements (idioms, proverbs), argumentation structures, negation semantics, and reference theories.

Her work explores cross-linguistic comparisons between French and Spanish, with a particular interest in lexical semantics, discourse analysis, and translation challenges involving cultural idioms. Recent publications include The Notion of Formula in Linguistics (2023) and Affaires de sens: Lexique et discours (2021). She has supervised doctoral research on topics like Mexican 'narco-literature' and Extremaduran cultural identity.

PEREYRA-PALMA contributes to the CIRLEP research team, collaborating on projects involving phraseology, lexicography, and linguistic theory. Her teaching spans Spanish grammar, linguistics, and methodology in teacher training programs (LLCER, MEEF, Plurilingualism & FLE).
