Dr. Erik Plauschinn is a theoretical physicist specializing in string theory and cosmology. He held a DFG Heisenberg Fellowship at Utrecht University from May 2020 to February 2025, focusing on string vacua and non-geometric fluxes. Previously, he served as an Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and postdoctoral researcher at LMU Munich (2015–2020), and held postdoctoral positions at the University of Padova (2012–2015) and Utrecht University (2009–2012). His graduate studies were conducted at the Max-Planck-Institute for Physics in Munich (2006–2009). His research interests span string theory, quantum gravity, and cosmology, with a focus on flux compactifications, moduli stabilization, non-geometric backgrounds, and T-dualities. He has contributed to understanding AdS vacua, Swampland conjectures, and applications of double field theory. Key awards include the DFG Heisenberg Fellowship. Recent publications explore topics such as flux vacua in mirror octic models, mass spectra in type IIB compactifications, and the tadpole conjecture in asymptotic limits. His work bridges string theory formalism with cosmological implications, emphasizing non-geometric structures and symmetry principles.
