Surya Raghavendran is a Gibbs Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Yale University and a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh (2024-25). His research bridges mathematical physics, algebraic geometry, and representation theory, particularly focusing on geometric constructions in high energy physics such as supersymmetric gauge theories, supergravity, and string duality.
Education:
- PhD in Mathematics: Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics & University of Toronto (Advisor: Kevin Costello)
- Bachelor’s Degree: University of Texas at Austin
Research Interests:
- Twisting of supersymmetric theories
- Calabi-Yau categories and moduli spaces
- Geometric realizations of quantum groups
- Applications of derived/noncommutative geometry
Teaching:
- MATH 671: Lie Groups & Representation Theory (Yale, Fall 2024)
- MATH 222: Linear Algebra with Applications (Yale, 2023)
Collaborations: Active in seminar organizations including the Twisted Holography and Koszul Duality series (2021), co-organizing with Kevin Costello and Brian Williams. Collaborates with leading researchers like Davide Gaiotto, Nafiz Ishtiaque, and Philsang Yoo on projects in twisted holography and dualities.
