Andrew Chiasson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Dayton's School of Engineering. He holds multiple leadership roles, including Director of the Master's Program in Renewable and Clean Energy, Director of the Building Energy Center, Assistant Director of the Industrial Training and Assessment Center, and Director of Catalyzing Institutional Transformation at the Hanley Sustainability Institute. Dr. Chiasson's research focuses on sustainable energy systems, with expertise in geothermal energy, solar energy, energy-efficient buildings, thermal energy storage, and hybrid heat pump systems. His work emphasizes simulation, optimization, and practical implementation of renewable technologies in both natural and built environments. His recent scholarly output spans geothermal power generation, hybrid solar-geothermal systems, thermal energy storage using phase change materials, building energy audits, and renewable grid integration. His research demonstrates a consistent trend toward integrated, multi-source renewable systems for decarbonizing buildings and infrastructure.
