Dr. Changmin Shi is an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University with affiliations to the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems and the BioInspired Institute. His research bridges materials science, advanced manufacturing, and AI-driven methodologies to address challenges in energy storage, thermal management, and environmental sustainability.

Research Interests focus on battery materials and manufacturing, passive thermal management, AI-driven prediction, and micro/nano fabrication. His group develops novel materials and recycling strategies for next-generation batteries while exploring passive systems for water harvesting and temperature regulation.
Recent publications highlight advancements in solid-state battery electrolytes, dendrite suppression, and passive cooling architectures. His work combines machine learning with materials design to optimize performance across energy and environmental domains.
