Prof. Tasolamprou Anna is a Professor at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Nanotechnology (IESL) within the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH). Her research focuses on metamaterials, photonics, nanotechnology, and optoelectronics, with a strong emphasis on advanced applications like THz technology, solar energy systems, and reconfigurable metasurfaces. She leads the Photonic-, Phononic- and Meta-materials (PPM) Group, pioneering work in chiral metasurfaces, graphene-based optoelectronics, and energy-efficient photovoltaic solutions.
Her academic journey includes significant contributions to the design and characterization of dielectric metasurfaces, photonic crystals, and smart materials for wireless communication and energy harvesting. Prof. Anna’s work bridges theoretical modeling with experimental validation, addressing challenges in beam steering, wavefront manipulation, and ultrafast modulation in THz regimes. She has also explored passive radiative cooling techniques to enhance solar cell efficiency under varying environmental conditions.
Key innovations include tunable microwave antennas, ultra-thin transparent electrodes, and software-defined metasurfaces for 6G communications. Her research often integrates nanofabrication techniques like laser-induced periodic surface structures and 3D printing to achieve high-performance optical components. These advancements have implications for next-generation optoelectronics, renewable energy systems, and intelligent communication infrastructure.
