Maheswari Senthil is a Professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the UCI School of Medicine. She holds leadership roles including Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology, Vice Chair of Surgical Research, and Medical Director of the UCI Center for Clinical Research. Her work focuses on peritoneal malignancies, colorectal cancer, and innovative therapies like cytoreductive surgery combined with HIPEC. She leads the Peritoneal Malignancy Program at the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Research Interests: Her research emphasizes peritoneal carcinomatosis, gastrointestinal malignancies, and translational studies in surgical oncology. She explores biomarkers (e.g., exosomes) for early detection and treatment response prediction. Her work also addresses disparities in cancer care and palliative treatment utilization.
