William Storrar is an Honorary Professor at the School of Divinity, University of Edinburgh, and currently serves as Director of the Center of Theological Inquiry (CTI) in Princeton, NJ. His academic career includes teaching practical theology at three Scottish universities and extensive parish ministry. His research focuses on reflective practice in collaboration across ordained ministry, academia, and civil society. He has led major interdisciplinary projects such as The Spiritual Loop Project (2020-2023) exploring machine intelligence's pastoral potential and The Astrobiology Outreach Project (2015-2018), supported by $1.7M from the John Templeton Foundation. Notable grants include a $3.5M Templeton Foundation grant (2012-2015) for theological inquiries on evolution, religious freedom, and moral identity. His publications span edited volumes on astrobiology, public theology, and Scottish religious identity, including Life as a Planetary Phenomenon (forthcoming) and Last Doctor out of Biafra (2019). His work bridges theology and public life through initiatives like faith-based organizing in the US and global civil society studies. He has collaborated with institutions such as Princeton University's Law and Public Affairs Program and South Africa's Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study.
