Fiona M Davidson

Fiona M Davidson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Arkansas, affiliated with the J. William Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences. She serves as the Director of the European Studies Program and has been a faculty member since 1992.

Education:

• B.A. (Honors) from Newcastle Upon Tyne Polytechnic (1985)
• M.A. and Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (1991)

Research Interests: Professor Davidson specializes in political geography, with a focus on the European Union, Scottish elections, and devolution processes in the UK. Her work examines shifting voting patterns, the influence of the Scottish National Party, and how devolution affects sub-national governance. She has co-authored two books and numerous articles on these topics.

Advising: She has supervised multiple graduate students, including Mohamed Al-Hediaf, Saeed Alkaabi, and Judy Rogers, whose research spans population dynamics, urban growth, and spatial disease clustering.
