Dr. J. Brock Smith is a Professor at the Gustavson School of Business , University of Victoria (UVic), where he has served since 1991 as a founding faculty member. He specializes in marketing strategy, entrepreneurship, and new venture marketing , with a focus on value creation and cognitive approaches to entrepreneurial decision-making. His leadership roles include directing the Hospitality Management program and spearheading entrepreneurship initiatives like the Innovation Centre for Entrepreneurs (ICE) and Kidovate , a youth-focused entrepreneurship program. Education: BCom from the University of British Columbia and a PhD in Marketing from the Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario). His doctoral work received the 1992 Academy of Marketing Science Doctoral Dissertation Award .
