Laura M. Douglass, MD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University, where she also serves as Co-Director of the Transgender Program at Temple Health. Her clinical practice focuses on reconstructive urology and gender-affirming surgery. Dr. Douglass completed her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine, followed by residency training in Urologic Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a Fellowship in Reconstructive Urology at Temple University. She is board-certified by the American Board of Urology. Her research interests span genitourinary reconstruction , prosthetic urology , and gender-affirming surgical techniques , with particular expertise in urethral stricture management, urinary incontinence treatments, and surgical innovations for transgender patients. Her publications demonstrate strong focus on surgical education and oncologic urology. Honors include: 2022 Health Equity Leadership & Social Justice Award Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award Tulane University School of Medicine Merit Scholarship She maintains active memberships in the American Urological Association, Society for Women in Urology, Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons, and World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
