Kimberley Wilson is a Senior Lecturer in Human Security at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. She holds an MBA from Simmons College and a BA in Latin American Studies from Wellesley College. Her research focuses on the financial strategies of refugees and migrants, particularly transcontinental journeys, and she leads the Journeys Project . She has conducted fieldwork with UN agencies, World Bank, and NGOs, emphasizing financial inclusion and migration economics. Teaching includes qualitative research methods and economic inclusion frameworks. She received the James L. Paddock Award for Teaching Excellence (2009) and has authored/co-authored works on savings groups, refugee finance, and development economics. Education: MBA, Simmons College, Boston BA, Wellesley College, Wellesley Research Highlights: Explores financial mechanisms used by migrants/refugees before, during, and after journeys. Collaborates with international organizations to analyze shadow economies, cross-border finance, and integration challenges. Recent projects include studies in East Africa, the Mediterranean, and the U.S., with Fletcher students. Grants & Funding: Supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, MasterCard Foundation, MetLife Foundation, and others for initiatives like the Fletcher Leadership Program for Financial Inclusion and FIND (Financial Integration in Displacement).
