Elizabeth Rhodes is a Professor Emerita at Boston College's Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, specializing in Early Modern Spanish literature, theology, and women’s studies. Her research explores intersections of religion, gender, and cultural identity in early modern Spain, with a focus on marginalized voices such as female mystics and nuns. Rhodes holds a Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College and has authored influential books like This Tight Embrace and Dressed to Kill. She currently investigates the evolving narratives of saints in her project 'The Age of the Saints.' Her work bridges literary analysis with historical and feminist critiques, addressing themes of violence, gender, and religious identity.
