Minna Halme is a Professor of Sustainability Management at Aalto University School of Business, leading the Sustainability in Business Research Group. She specializes in co-creating sustainability innovations, circular economy strategies, and poverty alleviation in emerging markets. Her work bridges academic research with practical implementation through cross-disciplinary projects like the Creative Sustainability Master’s program and Aalto Global Impact. Halme holds editorial roles at journals such as Organization & Environment and advises Finland’s government and major organizations like SOK and the Central Chamber of Commerce.
Education: Doctoral degree in Business and Economics from the University of Tampere (1997), Licentiate (1993), and Master’s (1990) degrees in the same field.
Research Interests: Focus on systemic sustainability transitions, inclusive business models, and stakeholder collaboration in low-income contexts. Her projects often involve multi-country studies in Brazil, India, Russia, and Tanzania, emphasizing co-creation with informal sectors and marginalized communities.
Grants & Projects: Principal Investigator in strategic SRC-funded projects like ForTran (forestry transitions) and FINIX (textile sustainability). These initiatives aim to redesign global supply chains for resource efficiency and equity.
