Nina Granqvist is a Professor at the Department of Management Studies, Aalto University School of Business. Her research focuses on how new industries and market categories emerge, leveraging institutional theory, market categorization, and temporality. Key areas include quantum computing, nanotechnology, cultural industries, and impact investing. She has received notable awards including the Roland Calori Prize (2013) and EGOS Best Paper Award (2009), and was Aalto's Scholar of the Year (2017).
Granqvist holds editorial roles at Organization Studies and Academy of Management Journal. She leads market activities in Finland’s Quantum Flagship and participates in OECD’s quantum technology expert group. Her teaching spans strategy, change management, and foresight in executive education. Prior to academia, she worked at Accenture and Bertelsmann.
Her research emphasizes temporal work, organizational stigmatization, and market labeling strategies. Recent publications explore quantum computing categorization and impact investing’s future value frameworks. She collaborates internationally, co-editing special issues on culture, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
