Brittany Overstreet is an Associate Professor and Clinical Exercise Physiology (CEP) Program Coordinator in the Department of Kinesiology & Applied Physiology at the University of Delaware's College of Health Sciences. She teaches multiple courses in clinical exercise physiology including KAAP 475, KAAP 434, KAAP 676, KAAP 680, and KAAP 681. Dr. Overstreet is affiliated with the American College of Sports Medicine and the Clinical Exercise Physiology Association. Dr. Overstreet earned her Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in 2016, her M.S. from Ball State University in 2013, and her B.S. from Salisbury University in 2011. Her educational background has prepared her for a career focused on the intersection of exercise science and clinical applications. Dr. Overstreet's research focuses on physiological and psychological responses to exercise and methods to promote positive and reduce negative psychological experiences in exercise . Her work explores how media consumption during exercise affects enjoyment and adherence, the energy costs of various activities including video games, and the cardiovascular benefits of lifelong exercise. She has made significant contributions to understanding cardiac rehabilitation eligibility and the technical requirements for clinical exercise physiologists as healthcare professionals.
