Carmel Edwards is a Senior Lecturer and Area Leader for Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Chester's Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She holds a PhD in Emotional Intelligence and previously served as a Player Development Advisor at Everton Football Club, focusing on player wellbeing and sport psychology. Her teaching spans sport psychology, research methods, and multidisciplinary modules in Sport and Exercise Sciences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Edwards' research emphasizes practical applications, including perfectionism in sports, resilience among athletes, and physical activity disparities linked to socioeconomic status in children. She advocates for research that directly impacts practitioners' professional efficacy.
