Raffaele Romagnoli serves as a Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental, Land, and Infrastructure Engineering (DIATI) at the Polytechnic University of Turin, affiliated with the College of Environmental and Land Engineering. He actively participates in the Doctoral Colleges for Environmental Geoengineering (19th and 20th cycles) and delivers the Master's course Well Drilling and Completion across Georesources and Geoenergy Engineering programs since 2019/20. His research centers on Underground Energy Systems and Energy Transition within the Hydrocarbons and Underground Fluids disciplinary sector (CEAR-02/D). Key expertise spans petroleum engineering, geomechanics, reservoir characterization, and well drilling/completion technologies, addressing critical challenges in energy extraction and sustainable transition. Recent publications demonstrate dual focus: petroleum engineering contributions include reservoir analysis in Uzbekistan's Kandym Uplift and geomechanical modeling of karstified Dammam Formation, while interdisciplinary medical collaborations cover liver transplantation techniques and esophageal cancer surgery. This reflects engagement with both core energy systems and cross-domain biomedical applications. Professor Romagnoli maintains continuous involvement in doctoral education through Environmental Geoengineering committees and consistently leads advanced instruction in well engineering. His academic trajectory shows sustained commitment to petroleum engineering education within Turin's Georesources program, with course ownership maintained through 2025/26 academic planning.
