Patrick Ryan is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Limerick, serving as Head of Department since 2012 and Director of the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology since 2005. He holds additional roles including Director of Training & Accreditation at the Psychological Society of Ireland and Senior Clinical Psychologist at Brothers of Charity Services. His research focuses on applied developmental psychology, attachment theory, youth offending, and clinical supervision, with a recent emphasis on qualitative exploration of sexual abuse and youth offender profiles.
