Her academic profile centers on bridging economic and business history with contemporary sustainability challenges, particularly through historical analysis of Portugal's forestry and cork industries. Education: Aggregation in Social Sciences, History (2022), ISEG PhD in Economic and Social History (2005), ISEG Master's in Economics (Natural Resources, Environment, Energy) Her research program critically examines long-term economic patterns in natural resource exploitation, with special emphasis on how historical institutional frameworks shape current sustainability practices. She actively develops interdisciplinary methodologies that connect historical analysis with environmental science and policy studies, particularly regarding the 19th-20th century Portuguese forestry sector. This approach positions her as a key contributor to sustainability science through historical perspectives. Analysis of her 15 most recent publications (2019-2024) reveals a cohesive scholarly trajectory expanding from core economic history into sustainability education and public health. While historical studies of the cork industry remain foundational, her work increasingly addresses pandemic impacts on education and sustainability integration in academic curricula. This evolution demonstrates methodological flexibility in applying historical frameworks to contemporary societal challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration.
