Dr. Maria Dieci is an Assistant Professor at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, dual-affiliated with the Department of Health Policy and Management and the Hubert Department of Global Health. Her research focuses on health economics, global health systems, and maternal/child health, emphasizing incentive structures to improve healthcare coordination and access. She collaborates with organizations in East Africa to address barriers in malaria and family planning care, leveraging experimental methods and data analysis.

Research Interests: Dr. Dieci explores how economic incentives and behavioral 'nudges' can enhance healthcare quality and equity, particularly in low-resource settings. She designs interventions to strengthen provider-patient coordination and evaluate large-scale health programs. Current projects include:
- Community health worker impact on early child development in Madagascar
- Provider bias in family planning across multiple countries
- Malaria treatment incentives in Kenyan pharmacies
Grants & Collaborations: Works with social enterprises and global health networks to implement scalable interventions. Prior experience at Innovations for Poverty Action evaluating health/social safety net programs in the US, Latin America, and sub-Saharan Africa.
