Dr. Gabby Resch is an Assistant Professor at Ontario Tech University's Faculty of Business and Information Technology. His research focuses on data visualization, tangible interaction, and immersive technologies like AR/VR. He holds a PhD and Master's from the University of Toronto (Information Science) and a BA in Political Science from UBC. Prior to his current role, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Ryerson University's Synaesthetic Media Lab, collaborating on VR/AR applications for spatial cognition and medical training. His work has been supported by a SSHRC Insight grant. He teaches visualization and interaction design courses and collaborates with institutions like Autodesk Research and the Ontario Science Centre. Key research interests include: 1) Tangible and embodied data interaction, 2) Critical approaches to data literacy, and 3) Immersive 3D media for spatial training. Recent articles explore VR's vergence-accommodation conflict, mixed reality motor control effects, and tangible interfaces for scientific data. Grants: SSHRC Insight Grant (ongoing collaboration with Ryerson/Georgia Tech/UToronto/Toronto General Hospital). Labs/Teams: Part of the Business Analytics & AI group at Ontario Tech.
