Anna Efverman is a Senior Lecturer and Docent at Gävle University, affiliated with the Department of Health Sciences. She is part of the strategic research area Hälsofrämjande arbete (Health Promoting Work) and leads the interdisciplinary research program Inkluderande Arbetsliv (INKA) . Her work focuses on cancer rehabilitation, symptom management, and enhancing work ability among cancer survivors. She leads four ongoing research projects addressing work-related challenges, symptom reduction, and the implementation of evidence-based interventions. Her research combines quantitative and qualitative methods, involving collaborations with patients, healthcare professionals, and employers. Current projects include Can-Work-S (a work-focused rehabilitation intervention), communication strategies to reduce chemotherapy-induced nausea, and longitudinal studies on neuropathy caused by cancer treatments. These projects are funded by organizations like Forte, Cancerfonden, and regional councils. Anna supervises multiple doctoral students and mentors postdoctoral researchers, including Maria Fjell, Per Fessé, and Sara Larsson Fällman. Her work emphasizes translating research into clinical practice, ensuring interventions improve patients' daily functioning and workplace integration. Key grants include Forte program funding (2021), Cancerfonden grants, and support from regional health authorities. Her research has produced published sub-studies, with ongoing efforts to evaluate intervention efficacy and cost-effectiveness.
