Pacey Foster is an Associate Professor in the Management Department at the University of Massachusetts Boston, specializing in creative industries, social networks, leadership, and negotiation. He is affiliated with the Center for Medical Simulation and has held roles at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation and the American Arbitration Association. PhD and MS from Boston College’s Wallace E. Carroll School of Management BA with Departmental and College Honors from Earlham College His research examines how individual-level social networks influence organizational and industry-level structures, with a focus on risk management in cultural markets, regional film offices, and the history of Boston hip-hop. He pioneered the Massachusetts Hip Hop Archive and conducted funded studies on the state’s creative economy. Recent publications highlight his work on network governance in cultural industries, mobile project networks in film production, and innovative pedagogical approaches.
