Jennifer Boger is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo, specializing in aging technology and ethical design of assistive systems. Her work focuses on innovative solutions for dementia care, workplace accommodations for neurodiverse populations, and non-invasive health monitoring through radar and AI technologies. She leads interdisciplinary collaborations in AGE-WELL and the International Consortium on Ethics in Technology and Aging (ICE-TEA), emphasizing participatory design with end-users. Her research integrates engineering, gerontology, and ethics to address challenges in aging-in-place, including virtual reality (VR) exergames for older adults, radar-based gait monitoring systems, and aromatherapy-enhanced VR programs. She has pioneered co-design methodologies with people living with dementia and employers navigating cognitive impairment in the workforce. Key areas include workplace policy reform, zero-effort assistive technologies, and ethical frameworks for aging tech development. Boger’s contributions span 100+ peer-reviewed articles and multidisciplinary projects funded through partnerships with industry and government. She advocates for human-centered approaches in technology, ensuring accessibility and dignity for marginalized populations. Current initiatives explore AI ethics, infodemic management in health communication, and sensor-based wellness tracking in long-term care facilities.
