Dr. Lizhong Zheng is Professor of Electrical Engineering at MIT, affiliated with the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department. His research bridges information theory, wireless communications, and network science to develop fundamental frameworks for modern communication systems.
His group investigates capacity limits of wireless networks, designs efficient coding schemes, and develops optimization methods for distributed systems. Recent work integrates machine learning with information-theoretic approaches for next-generation networking.
Notable contributions include Gaussian universal features for data representation and differentiable SAT solvers enabling logical reasoning in deep learning architectures. His theoretical advances have applications in 5G/6G networks, distributed computing, and recommendation systems.
