معرفی
Zheng Chen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Linköping University, Sweden, where she has been working since 2017. Her research focuses on the intersection of wireless communications and distributed machine learning.
Education:
- B.Sc. in Optoelectronics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China (2011)
- M.Sc. from CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Saclay, France (2013)
- Ph.D. from CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Saclay, France (2016)
Her research spans several key areas: stochastic geometry for wireless network modeling, distributed machine learning over wireless networks, and information dissemination in complex networks. She aims to design efficient and reliable communication systems for decentralized intelligence.
Her recent publications (2025) focus on energy-efficient federated learning, communication-efficient decentralized learning, and novel wireless access techniques. These works integrate optimization theory and information theory to address challenges in next-generation wireless networks.
Awards:
- 2020 IEEE Communications Society Young Author Best Paper Award
She supervises seven PhD students (three as main supervisor and four as co-supervisor). Her research is funded by major grants including a Swedish Research Council (VR) starting grant (2023-2027), a Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) project (2023-2028), a Zenith project grant (since 2021), and a Knut and Alice Wallenberg grant for "Turning the air into an AI computer".
Within the Division of Communication Systems, she leads the "Wireless Communications for Distributed Intelligence" project, which establishes a framework for joint design of information processing and wireless resource allocation in decentralized machine learning systems.
