Dr. Julie Ayre is a Research Fellow in the Sydney School of Public Health at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health. She leads the Sydney Health Literacy Lab and focuses on health literacy, behavioral science, and digital health interventions. Her PhD (2020) explored diabetes self-management apps and health literacy impacts.
Education: PhD in Public Health (University of Sydney, 2020). Current projects include developing an online health literacy editor and studying multicultural communities' responses to health challenges like COVID-19.
Research interests span health literacy, implementation science, chronic disease management, and digital health. Recent work includes evaluating ChatGPT's health information use, culturally sensitive CVD prevention messaging, and telehealth during pandemics.
Grants include NHMRC Investigator Grants (2022) and collaborations with Glasgow University on health inequalities. Advises Sumathy RAVI on virtual care for diabetes.
