Ken Petersen is the Helen Robson Walton Chair in Marketing Strategy and Professor of Marketing & Supply Chain Management at the University of Oklahoma’s Michael F. Price College of Business. He also serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research Innovation. Previously, he held leadership roles including Dean of the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University and the John H. Dove Endowed Chair at the University of Tennessee. Education Ph.D. in Operations Management, Sourcing Management, and Information Systems from Michigan State University MBA in Management and Information Systems from the University of Akron Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from the University of Alabama Research Interests Dr. Petersen’s research focuses on supply chain management, procurement innovation, and sustainable practices. His work explores themes such as buyer-supplier collaboration, global sourcing strategies, and the impact of geopolitical disruptions on supply chains. His studies emphasize strategic alignment, resilience-building, and the integration of environmental sustainability into supply chain operations. Editorial Contributions He has served as an associate editor for journals such as the Journal of Operations Management , Journal of Supply Chain Management , and Journal of Business Logistics . His publications span over three decades, addressing topics from supply chain resilience to new product development through supplier collaboration. Professional Experience Before academia, Petersen was a submarine-qualified Supply Corps Officer in the U.S. Navy. He has also consulted for firms like Honeywell, IBM, and Texas Instruments, applying his expertise in supply chain optimization.
