Dr. Anselm Schneider is an Associate Professor at Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University, where he serves in the Department of Business Administration. His academic credentials include a Master's degree in Economics from Freie Universität Berlin (2006) and a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Zurich (2014). Prior to joining Stockholm University, he was a researcher in corporate sustainability at the University of Zurich and a doctoral fellow at the Swiss National Center of Excellence in Research. Schneider's research focuses on the intersection of organization theory and political science, examining how businesses influence society and the environment, and how these impacts feedback into organizational structures. Key research areas include global governance, sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, corporate control mechanisms (regulation, governance, democratic decision-making), and the sustainability potential of craft industries. From 2023-2026, he co-leads a Handelsbanken Research Foundation project exploring craft's role in sustainable development. His publication portfolio demonstrates consistent focus on systemic business-society relationships, with recent works emphasizing: Ethical frameworks for Earth system justice Grand challenges in business research Craft industries' transformative potential Pathologies of CSR systems Organizational responses to complexity Schneider received recognition as a finalist for the Journal of Management Studies Best Paper Award (2017). He currently co-directs two bachelor's programmes: International Business and Politics (IBP) and Business, Ethics and Sustainability (BES). His teaching covers business & society and organization theory at undergraduate and graduate levels, including course leadership for 'Business and Society' (Master's), 'Business, Politics and Culture' and 'Principles of Management' (Bachelor's). He regularly supervises theses and advises students.
