Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He specializes in Environmental Engineering with a focus on water and wastewater management systems. His academic journey includes a PhD from IIT Kanpur (2010), M.Tech from IIT Kanpur (2003), and B.Tech from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (2003). Dr. Tiwari's educational background demonstrates a strong foundation in civil and environmental engineering: Ph.D., IIT Kanpur, 2010 M. Tech., IIT Kanpur, 2003 B. Tech., G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, 2003 His research interests span multiple critical areas in water resources management, with particular emphasis on sustainable solutions for water challenges. Dr. Tiwari's work integrates traditional engineering approaches with modern technologies to address complex water management issues in urban and rural settings. Dr. Tiwari's publications demonstrate a consistent research trajectory focused on innovative water management solutions. His recent work (2021-2022) shows increasing integration of remote sensing, machine learning, and smart technologies in water quality monitoring and distribution systems. Earlier work (2005-2014) focused more on fundamental aspects of wastewater treatment and pollutant fate in environmental systems. Dr. Tiwari has received several prestigious awards including the Fulbright Doctoral and Professional Research Fellowship (2009-10), MSE Visiting Fellow at University of Melbourne (2018), and Cash Award from DRPG – IIT Kanpur (2007-09). With extensive professional experience including positions at IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, NIT Raipur, and as a Visiting Fulbright Fellow at University of Virginia, Dr. Tiwari has developed significant expertise in both academic instruction and research supervision in environmental engineering.
