Dr Marco Aurisicchio is an Associate Professor in Engineering Design at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London. He holds multiple leadership roles including RAEng Industrial Fellowship with Procter & Gamble, REF lead for the Dyson School, and co-lead of the Ocean Plastic Solutions Network. His research focuses on sustainable manufacturing, circular economy frameworks, and human-product interaction, with affiliations spanning systems engineering, artificial intelligence, and translational nutrition research. Education: PhD in Engineering Design from the University of Cambridge, MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome. Prior roles include Senior Lecturer at Imperial’s Mechanical Engineering Department and postdoctoral work with BAE Systems/Rolls-Royce partnerships. Research Interests: Sustainable consumption systems, circular business models (e.g., Flow Mapper tool), policy mixes analysis, and design for resource efficiency. Tools developed include the Circular Business Ecosystem Model Canvas and Decision Rationale Editor (DRed). Projects: Leads high-impact initiatives like the LOTI ReCare repair initiative, Water Treatment as Resource Hubs, and EPSRC-funded projects on fast-moving consumer goods. Collaborates with global firms including Nestlé, NASA, and CERN. Awards: Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial Fellowship, RAEng Visiting Professorship. Teaching: Course leader for Sustainable Design Engineering (MEng) and Sustainable Systems (MSc/MA Innovation Design Engineering with Royal College of Art).
